Career Opportunities on LinkedIn!

Just a quick FYI., we received a notification today from LinkedIn that's great for graduating students! LinkedIn has partnered with PwC and has released Career Explorer which helps you to figure out your career path. It uses data from the 80 million professionals that are on LinkedIn to help you figure out the next steps in your career upon graduating. If you all are still trying to figure out what it is you want to do after graduating, get a LinkedIn account and check out the Career Explorer!

LinkedIn Progress.....if you can call it that :)

We are going to keep writing in hopes that someone will follow our blog! So far on LinkedIn, we have set up our profile and linked our blog to it, but unfortunately we do not know anyone on LinkedIn (except for you Dr. Gruen). We did however, join a few different marketing groups, as welll as one for current job postings. We have been following their updates, seeing how LinkedIn emails you every time there's an update...it's hard to miss them. Since we only have one friend, so sad, on LinkedIn we have no followers on our blog. There's still hope though, the class is not over yet! So, if anyone out there is reading this, please give us your feedback...or post anything so we feel like we've accomplished something. Thanks!!

Getting Started

Upon creating our account, we found it complicated to set up our profile. Apparently there is a lot of information you need to provide in your profile. For instance, job history, current employment, education, websites that you have (such as blogs), and various other personal information. You can also upload applications, resumes, recommendations, etc. to your profile. It's a little overwhelming especially if your used to Facebook! However, we could see how helpful it could be when using this type of social media for networking. We still have yet to utilize all aspects of LinkedIn...next step: Uploading Resumes! Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever found a job through using LinkedIn? Let us know your story.

Welcome to our Blog!

In today's society most everybody has a facebook or twitter page. Even our grandparents do...and that's scary. However, we realized that we have absolutely no idea what else is out there. Which brought us to LinkedIn, the professional social network...yes, you heard me right. PROFESSIONAL. So, we decided as graduating seniors who need to pay off our student debt (lots of it), we decided a little networking would probably be a good idea! With that being said, we created a LinkedIn account and we successfully have 1 follower, yay! Although we love our 1 follower (our professor), if anyone has a LinkedIn account, ADD US!
